In this article, we’ll walk you through the hashtag feature on Gan Jing World, plus some additional tips and tricks.

Adding Hashtag to Your Posts

After signing in, you will be redirected to the website's homepage. From here, navigate to your personal profile page by clicking your avatar on the upper left corner and selecting “Visit My Profile” in the dropdown menu.

In your profile page, create a post. Please note that if you want your post’s content to appear in the hashtag’s aggregation page, you must add an image.

Next, hit the spacebar on your keyboard and type in ‘#’ followed by the keywords of your choice. (Or you can type in a pre-set hashtag to enter one of our events: Event Page) As you type, hashtags matching your text will be recommended, to select a recommended hashtag, click on it in the dropdown list.

Please Note that in order for a hashtag to become effective, it must start with a ‘#’ and when you’re done with each hashtag, hit the spacebar on your keyboard. (Meaning between each hashtag, there must be a “space”)

You can add an unlimited number of hashtags, and it can be in any language.

When done, click “Post”

Now you can see your newly published post, the hashtag in your post will be in bold.

By clicking any hashtag, you will be taken to the hashtags aggregation page, where all contents containing the hashtag you just clicked will appear. You can also see your content on the page.

Our hashtag events page may look a little different from regular hashtag pages, please see the two examples below.

Adding Hashtags for Video, Shorts, and Article

If you already have a channel on our platform, you'll be able to add hashtags to videos, shorts, and articles you have uploaded.

After signing in, you can choose a specific content format to start uploading or navigate to your Creator Studio via your avatar on the upper left corner.

After uploading your video/shorts, you can add hashtags in the title, description, and a special section designed for adding hashtags all the at the end, right below “Schedule”

Up to 15 hashtags can be added to the tile, the same goes with your video description. And the first three hashtags added in the description will appear above your content title.

If you’re adding hashtags in the designated section, please hit enter or type a comma on your keyboard after each hashtag, otherwise, the hashtag wouldn’t be effective.

When typing in a hashtag in the title or description, system recommendations will appear.

After publishing your video, you can see the hashtags in their designated area, depending on where you added them. Click on any hashtag to enter its aggregation page.

Click into a short, and in the hamburger menu you can view the description for this short.

Adding Hashtags to Your Article

Different from videos and shorts, adding hashtags in your title won’t work, there’s a special section for adding them, right below the title section.

Type in ‘#’ in the box, you’ll begin to see recommendations based on your text. Hit enter/space on your keyboard or type in a comma to complete the hashtag, you can also click one of the hashtags in the recommended list.

Tags should only include '#' symbol, letters, numbers, and underscore (_). All other characters will be treated as separators. All duplicated tags, as well as any tags that do not begin with '#', will be automatically deleted.

After your article is published, you can see the added hashtags right below the title.

Click on any hashtag to enter the designated aggregation page.
